You can setup the right intent so that life obeys YOU. Intent is a wish that one means to carry out. When you want to start you day off and keep it on a positive note, then why not use the power of your intentions. Too often we wake up and immediately start thinking about all the stuff we have to do that day, and the stuff that didn’t get done yesterday. Not to mention all the worries that are hovering in our minds.
The problem with that approach is that it causes us too be reactive, not proactive. You’re already reacting to the thoughts you’re having (mind chatter) instead of commanding using your intentions to determine how the day will go, not react to what life throws at you. Using your intentions takes a mind-set. A mind-set takes a focus and the ability to concentrate.
The ego (left side) is that part of your brain that entertains mind chatter. On the other hand, your inner-self (right-side) of your brain that is able to develop a mind-set to focus and concentrate and carry out your intents. When you set positive intentions, you’ll consciously put yourself in the driver’s seat and decide how your day is going to go. Practice remaining relaxed yet engaged, and you’ll start the day off with a calm, alert and centered frame of mind. Here’s an example: “Today I’m going to have a super productive day period, regardless of what is happening around me. I will not give up my JOY”. Notice how specific that was? That’s because the best intentions are full of detail, emotion and descriptions. When you fill your intention with specific scenarios, you’ll find yourself automatically doing things that demonstrate your commitment to that intention. So set the RIGHT intentions, and you will create your day’s experience in a way that pleases you! When you’re setting your intentions, make sure you infuse them with lots of positive energy and emotion. If life throws a monkey wrench at you, you’ll be in a more positive mind-set and better able to respond – with your intention in mind – instead of automatically reacting. Author Steven Covey said in his book “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” – “Our character is basically a composite of our habits. Because they are consistent, often unconscious patterns, they constantly, daily, express our character.” When you create a habit of setting positive intentions every single day, you will create a powerful upswing in the quality of your life. Intention is the starting point of every dream. It is the creative power that fulfills all of our needs, whether for money, relationships, spiritual awakening, or love.
Everything that happens in the universe begins with intention. When I decide to buy a birthday present, take a trip, or call a friend, it all starts with intention.
The sages of India observed thousands of years ago that our destiny is ultimately shaped by our deepest intentions and desires. “You are what your deepest desire is. As your desire is, so is your intention. As your intention is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.”
An intention is a directed impulse of consciousness that contains the seed form of that which you aim to create. Like real seeds, intentions can’t grow if you hold on to them. Only when you release your intentions into the fertile depths of your consciousness can they grow and flourish.
In summary, your intention does not manifest from your ego, (left brain), and we are conditioned to use our ego, left brain to govern our daily lives. In order to manifest your desires with your intention, you first have to learn to use your inner resources that are lying dominent in your right brain.
